Devils Lake Fishing Report for the week of June 4th to June 10th, 2018
The Devil’s Lake Fishing Report for the week of June 4th to June 10th, 2018. Brought to you by Mitchell’s Guide Service. The largest, most experienced and professional full time Guide Service serving the Devils Lake basin.
Here at Devil’s Lake things are changing, the bite continues but the methods used to take mature walleyes have given anglers more options to be successful. Our guides have reported good catches by running spinners and bouncers, casting and trolling cranks and the bobber bite is also going although that bite has diminished a bit in its intensity. Still some nice fish are being caught on bobbers shallow. Some much-needed rain arrived here at Devil’s Lake this week and the passing fronts did affect the bite at times. All in all it was a good week of fishing as these posted photos show. As we move towards the middle of June the bite will be increasing in intensity and also in the overall size of the fish. The Spirit Lake Casino tournament took place this last weekend and some very good weights were caught by snglers with 40-plus pounds winning the tournament. Anglers fished virtually the entire Devil’s Lake system and good catches came from a variety of locations. Our guides also reported catches from a number of summer haunts for walleyes. The next two and a half months will feature some of the best open water fishing Devil’s Lake has to offer. In addition, these two and a half months coming up will also see some of the most stable weather to make enjoyable fishing possible.
