Providing incredible fishing on Devils Lake for more than twenty years, this team of professional guides stay on the hottest bites.

Devils Lake is North Dakota’s largest natural lake. Currently the lake is over 210,000 acres and more than 90% undeveloped. Fishing is outstanding year-round for a number of species which includes walleye, perch, northern pike and white bass. The lake itself is relatively shallow with and excellent forage base that quickly produces large fish. The opportunity exists here to land the trophy of a lifetime. Trophy northern pike, 8 pound walleye, jumbo yellow perch and knuckle busting white bass of 3 pounds are not uncommon when fishing Devils Lake. We believe Devils Lake has established itself as one the the premier fisheries in the United States.

Our mission is simple; we want you to experience the finest fishing Devils Lake has to offer. We operate clean, comfortable and safe boats, and use the best equipment in the industry. Our knowledgeable and professional guides will make your fishing experience as pleasurable and memorable as possible.

  • Everyone there is great, but Pete's the best guide I've ever had. It's like listening to my favorite radio station all day long about fishing. I learn more each time, and as always Pete puts us on the fish!

  • Pete Harsh was an amazing guide. He actually seemed more like part of the family. My Dad took me and two of my sisters with him this year and you couldn't ask for someone so knowledgeable, genuine, giving and ethical. If you like to hear about experiences and learn about history, you will enjoy what Pete has to share. I now want to bring my own Son up here with him so that he can have the same experience!

  • I wanted my wife to experience a Devils Lake memorable fishing trip. Pete Harsh didn't disappoint. We went out after a night of tornadic thunderstorms formed east of here the night before. Clouds, intermittent showers and 20-30 mph winds greeted us. Nothing was on the radar so Pete ran us back to the resort so we could grab our rain gear even though we are the ones that left it behind in the first place. Pete knew sheltered places to go and we boated fish in each spot and were able to put in a full day of fishing. A giant Crappie, 2 limits of Walleye and 4 Northern Pike on a day that I would stay home if I was at home. He also shared a wealth of knowledge about this fishery and navigation hazards where we fished that is appreciated. Pete and MGS made our day and vacation. We highly recommend both.

  • Just spent two great days of fishing with Tom Backer. We caught lots of fish and even learned some new ways to fish for walleyes. Overall we had an awesome time. These guys really know their business and make your experience the best it can be. You won't be disappointed using Mitchell's. Can't wait to get back in the spring.

  • My Wife and I stayed in the New Lodge for our 51st anniversary and fished with Tanner Thomas last June. We liked it so much that my wife said we need to book again for next year. We did and will be adding an extra day in the New Lodge and and extra day with Tanner Thomas.

  • Had a fantastic 2 days with Eric Tilton. Great guy & superior service!! Tough weather with the wind all week but Eric got us fish each day. Will definitely go fishing with him again. If you get Eric T as your guide be sure to bring cheese from WI. Thanks Eric for a memorable first trip to Devils Lake. Looking forward to fishing with you again!!

  • For the third time this year I had the pleasure of fishing with "Mr. Tiller" Pete Harsh. Once again, we caught a limit of quality fish in the 18" - 21" range, this guy's batting average is off the charts. But more importantly, my friends and I always left much better anglers each time out. Pete is a great teacher, entertaining, and a true professional in every sense. I can highly recommend Pete Harsh with Mitchell's Guide Service for anglers of ANY skill level looking to improve their walleye catching skills.

  • My husband and I did the 3 day fishing package. Tom was our guide. It was the fishing experience of a lifetime. We came from Iowa and had never fished Devil's Lake before.. Let me tell you.. we catch plenty of fish in Iowa but Devil's Lake.. it should be the Walleye capital of the world!! We will be back.

  • Fished two days in July with Pete Harsh. One of the Best days of fishing in my life! Pete kept us on fish for most of the 8 hours we were on the water each day! Fishing package at Woodlands/Mitchells is a great deal price wise.

  • After hearing an interview on local radio and reviewing his resume online, we requested a two day guided trip with Pete Harsh. We were not disappointed. In spite of some tough weather conditions, Pete took us to fish and kept us there. We limited out on beautiful, fat walleye and some nice northerns. Forget Canada - go to Devil's Lake and request Mr. Harsh - you'll be glad you did.
